Rilo Kiley toured with Nada Surf in summer of 2001, and during at least one show (8/24/01), Nada Surf called up Jenny to sing the Heart song "Magic Man" with them. Unfortunately, no recordings are known to be in circulation.

Jenny and Blake make appearances at the beginning of the Bright Eyes album Lifted or The Story is in the Soil Keep Your Ear to the Ground (2002) on the track "Big Picture". Jenny has also joined Bright Eyes on stage a handful of times. And she's on the Bright Eyes song "Napoleon's Hat" from the Lagniappe benefit compilation.

The band The Postal Service has a CD called Give Up released on Sub Pop 2/18/03 which features some vocals from Jenny. It's an electronica-meets-indie-rock supergroup featuring Jimmy Tamborello (of Dntel and Figurine) and Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard; Jenny Lewis and Jen Wood provide backing vocals. It's sometimes tricky to tell the two apart. Jenny sings on "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight", "Sleeping In", "Recycled Air", "Clark Gable", "We Will Become Silhouettes" and "Brand New Colony". There's also a b-side called "There's Never Enough Time" featuring Jenny. And she's on "Be Still My Heart", a b-side from the We Will Become Silhouettes single.

Cursive's album The Ugly Organ (released March 4, 2003) features Jenny singing backup on the tracks "The Recluse," "Bloody Murderer" and "Sierra."

In July and August of 2003, M. Ward toured supporting Rilo Kiley. During his opening set, Jenny and the other members of Rilo Kiley would form his backing band for a few songs. They were billed as M. Ward & A Band of Four. Jenny would sing backing vocals on the song "Sad Sad Song".

M Ward's album Transistor Radio (released 2/22/05) features Jenny signing backup on the tracks "Big Boat" and "Radio Campaign." She also joined Ward on stage at Bonnaroo '05 on these 2 songs.

Jenny also makes an appearance on The Elected's Me First (2004), a.k.a. Blake Sennett's first solo CD, contributing backing vocals to the track "Greetings In Braille", plus lyrical assistance on some songs. She also helped out on their second album, Sun, Sun, Sun (2006), singing backup vocals on the song "It Was Love", plus lending a hand writing the songs "Fireflies in a Steel Mill" (the line, "And I've heard that we can be fulfilled") and "Bank and Trust".

She sings a little at the end of the song "Inmates" by The Good Life, on their album Album of the Year (2004).

Jenny hooked up with Johnathan Rice to lend a hand on the song "Behind The Frontlines" on Rice's 2005 album Trouble Is Real, as well as "May The Road Rise To Meet You," a Traditional Gaelic Blessing which is a b-side to his "Kiss Me Goodbye" single, released on CD and 7" in August 2005. Jenny also co-wrote a few other songs with Mr. Rice, including "A Girl Called Miami" and "It Couldn't Be Me". As far as I know, these 2 songs have only been played live, not officially released yet, but will perhaps wind up on his next album.

Though you might not be able to tell by listening, both Jenny and Blake contributed to the song "Do They Know It's Hallowe'en?", a satire of the song "Do They Know It's Christmas?", which was released as a single on October 11, 2005 by an all-star cast of indie rock artists and more under the name The North American Hallowe'en Prevention Initiative (NAHPI). Like its inspiration, it is a charity song, with all proceeds being donated to UNICEF. According to the official press release, the song "stems from a frustration with other benefit songs' misguided, somewhat patronizing attitude, and Western-centric worldview."

Jenny contributes some vocals to the song "You Again" on James Figurine - Mistake Mistake Mistake Mistake (released July 2006). The song is basically an instrumental-- or lyric-less might be more accurate-- with Jenny quietly vocalizing in the background. James Figurine is a project by Jimmy Tamborello of the Postal Service.

Jenny contributed vocals to a song called "Roll On" (aka "A Warm Bed Is Something") by Dntel (another Jimmy Tamborello project). That album, Dumb Luck, was originally supposed to come out in 2003, but it was delayed like a son of a bitch, finally seeing release in April 2007. Jenny has performed an acoustic version of the song live at least once (8/23/04).

She guests on "Catch My Disease" and (maybe also) "We're All In This Together" on Ben Lee's album Awake Is the New Sleep (released 2/22/05).

While she doesn't actual perform on the song, Jenny had a quick cameo in the video for the song "Monkey to Man" by Elvis Costello. She just walks across the screen for half of a second.

She also pops up in the DVD release Spend an Evening With Saddle Creek (2005).

Jenny makes a guest appearance on The Watson Twins' album Southern Manners on the song "What'll I Do."

Jenny appears on Whispertown2000's debut cd Livin' In A Dream (2006). She sings backup on "Through a Hole" and "Lean Back." I'm not sure about singing on "Intentions", but she apparently does play the piano and harmonica for that song. She has in fact joined them live for that song and others on occasion.

The TV show Weeds has a thing where they have different artists perform the theme song, "Little Boxes." Jenny and Johnathan Rice recorded a version that was used for the episode titled "Yeah, Like Tomatoes" (show 2.11), which originally aired October 23, 2006.

Jenny guests on Vietnam's 2007 self-titled album, apparently amongst the chorus of backing vocals on the song "Summer In The City".

Jenny sings some faint backing vocals on Vagabonds, the 2008 Gary Louris album.

Convicted: A True Story (1986) - Jenny (a child actor at the time) has a part in this TV movie, and in one scene, picks up a guitar, plucks a few notes and sings "Silent Night."

Jenny plays piano a bit in an episode of Murder, She Wrote titled "A Murderous Muse" (1994).

Jenny also plays some piano in the made-for-TV movie Blind Hate (a.k.a. Line of Fire: The Morris Dees Story) (1991).

The Watson Twins (Chandra and Leigh) were backup singers in Slydell, a popular band in the Silverlake music scene, '99-'03. They finished an album titled Record from the Ship just a few months before they broke up. However, it had a very small run, and I don't think it was ever properly released, just sold at their final few shows and perhaps on their website, so it's pretty hard to find now.

During this time, the girls also performed and recorded with a handful of other local L.A. bands, inluding Orphan Train, Joe Firstman, and Fairchild.

The twins first got together with Jenny singing backup on the Rilo Kiley song "About The Moon," which is a b-side on the Science Vs Romance 7" single (2001).

The Watson Twins released their own 8 song cd, Southern Manners, on July 25, 2006. The self-released debut features an appearance from Jenny Lewis on a song called "What'll I Do." They had previously been known as Blackswan for a while before changing the name of the group to correspond with their album backing up Jenny, Rabbit Fur Coat.

The Watson Twins recorded a song called "I'll Be a Sunbeam" for the short film Postmortem Bliss from acclaimed director Floria Sigismondi. The film made its television debut September 15, 2006 on Turner Classic Movies. (You can check it out here (.mov).. the Watsons' song plays over the final three minutes of the 11 minute film.)

Prior to joining Rilo Kiley in the autumn of 2001, Jason played drums in a couple other bands. Evergreen was a three-piece emo band from Southern California in the early 90s. They put out a couple 7"s, a split with Still Life, and an LP. They were also featured on a couple compilations. (Note: There is at least one other band also called Evergreen, so beware if you go looking for their releases. One is a post-Slint band with Britt Walford on drums and keyboards. That album came out in 1996 and was re-issued in 2003, and has a big golden button-looking thing on the cover... that's not the same band Jason was in.)

The other band Jason spent time in was The Lassie Foundation, an indie-pop band out of Los Angeles, 1996-2006. They put out a few albums and EPs, never really having a permanent drummer. Jason plays on 2001's The El Dorado L.P.

He played drums on the first Elected album, Me First (2004).

Jason has worked with Bright Eyes a lot, both on record and on stage. Jason drums on the Bright Eyes releases Lua (2004 single), Take It Easy (Love Nothing) (2004 single), Digital Ash In A Digital Urn (2005), Easy/Lucky/Free (2005 single), and I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning (2005). He has also played in the band on several tours, and wrote an extensive tour diary featured in the liner notes for the Bright Eyes live album, Motion Sickness.

Jason is listed with Jenny Lewis as party vocals on Ben Lee's "Catch My Disease" on Awake Is the New Sleep (2005).

He also also played with Johnathan Rice a lot. He's the featured drummer on his album Trouble Is Real (2005).

Jason has worked with shushshush, a project of Than Luu.

Jason plays on the 2008 album from JL&tWT bandmate, Michael Runion called Our Time Will Come.
